The following are some of the services that are offered by the LGBT Resource Center. Our staff and volunteers will be happy to answer any questions you might have. Stop by and visit us!

  • Space for all individuals -- come and chat with friends, relax in our library/activity room, or access your email via the internet at the student workstation.
  • Information and referrals -- we provide information on campus events and resources.
  • Educational, cultural and social events -- check out our quarterly calendar to see what campus events interest you.
  • LGBT queer and gender academic resources -- we have listings of courses offered at UCSD.
  • LGBT Speakers Bureau -- trained students, staff, and faculty are available to speak to your group or organization. Keep an eye on our calendar for upcoming trainings or email us if you are interested in becoming a speaker.
  • The Resource Center is also the home to the David Bohnett Wireless CyberCenter at UCSD, providing the community computing resources to further meet the primary academic mission of the university.

Information tabling at the LGBTRO Dedication Celebration, Nov. 8, 1999, as at many other campus events, here for the "No On Knight" Campaign.

We especially welcome volunteers to help put together events and programs, work on special projects, assist our staff, and help make the office an inviting place for all members of the campus community. If you are interested in current volunteering opportunities contact Anthony at anunez@ucsd.edu.

The LGBT Resource Center also seeks to co-sponsor events and programs with other organizations and departments, and to help coordinate efforts for the benefit of the campus community. For more information on other campus resources and programs, see Resources.

In addition to possessing a lending library, video library, and other reference/resource materials, the LGBT Resource Center serves as the repository for the Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Campus Historical Collection and Project at the University of California, San Diego. The collection includes over 2,000 pages and items, which collectively chronicles the experiences and activities of the LGBT/queer campus community over more than two decades. All members of campus community and the public may access the collection within the LGBT Resource Center.

The LGBT Campus Historical Collection and Project at UCSD was compiled over two years by Scott Heath (class of 2000) with the generous support of many individuals and organizations and was dedicated at the 2000 Rainbow Graduation.
